Medal of Honor Certificate [1927]
This certificate awards Michael Dougherty the Congressional Medal of Honor for his bravery during the Civil War. The action occurred on October 12, 1863, at Jefferson, VA, where Dougherty led a detachment that defended an unoccupied house against repeated enemy attacks. Originally awarded the Medal of Honor in 1897, Dougherty received a second medal and certificate in 1927. The ribbon from the 1897 Medal of Honor can be seen attached to the 1927 medallion. His superior, Colonel M. Kerwin, supported the petition for recognition, underscoring Dougherty's gallantry during the conflict. -

PA Railroad main line through Bristol, taken at the corner of Walnut, Beaver, and Pond Streets. Leedom Carpet Mill on the left was later replaced by the Grundy Ice Rink. -
Postcard: "Farmers National Bank, Bristol, PA."
Built in 1818 as a private house. Purchased in 1833 as a bank. Farmer’s National Bank was charted in Hulmeville in 1814. It moved to Mill Street Bristol in 1823 and to Radcliffe in 1833. The building was expanded in 1952. -

Men unidentified.
The photograph was taken outside of Mohican Hall at 146 Otter Street, which was the former Otter Street School. The band was organized in 1891 and by 1904 had ceased to operate. An attempt was made to reorganize the band in 1904. -
