Keene Home built in 1816 and later owned by the Episcopal Church Dioses of Philadelphia and used as a home for maiden women. Trolley tracks visible and ran between Bristol and Trenton (1900-1932). House removed in 1964 and is now the site of the Grundy Library. -

Postcard: "River view of Farmers National Bank, Bristol, PA."
Farmers National Bank on Radcliffe Street was originally built in 1818 by Joseph Craig as a private home. The bank was started in Hulmeville by Jonh Hulme and others. It moved to Bristol in 1823 on Mill Street at Cedar Street. In 1833, it moved to Craig’s House. Presently it is Wells Fargo Bank. In 1952 an extension was built on each side. -

Opened 1888, closed 1969, burned in 1970. In 1972 a new school opened on Radcliffe Street opposite the St. Mark Church. -

This photo was taken of Silver Lake from the Bath Road bridge, facing the dam overflow area where Otter Creek begins. Note the growth in the lake. This was before the lake was dredged. -

Spruce Street Crossing Pennsylvania Railroad (P.R.R). Bristol, PA.
When the PRR was elevated in 1900, six underpasses were required on Otter Street, Bath Street, Spruce Street, Corson Street, Beaver Street, and Jefferson Avenue. Two were required over water. One was over Otter Creek, which came from Silver Lake and the other was over the Canal above Jefferson Avenue. -

The “Twilight” sank up the river in 1901.

Postcard: "The 'William E. Doron,' Bristol-Burlington Ferry"
The “William E. Doron” ferry operated between Bristol and Burlington until Mr. Doron retired February 25, 1930 and died a few months later.

Waterfront along Radcliffe Street. The Elks Hall is the tall building with porches built in 1911. Next is a house that was once part of the Bristol Library. The tall pipe is a water tower removed in 1918. The other tower is to provide power for the Bristol Water Works started in 1874. -

Pre-Enlistment Diary
A small diary filled with poems, some of which are signed by Michael Dougherty, notes, drafts of letters, and a small amount of record-keeping notes. The diary contains a poem about the death of Colonel Edward D. Baker at Ball's Bluff, which ends with the attack on Fort Sumter on April 12th, 1861. It describes the early stages of the Civil War. -
Prisoner of War Diary
A handwritten diary that documents Michael’s time spent as a prisoner of war in Pemberton, Barrett's, Belle Isle, Libby, and Andersonville prisons up to his release. Michael was captured on October 12th, 1863, sent to Andersonville in March 1862, and was released at the end of the Civil War in 1865. The presence of ink and pencil suggests revisions were made to entries, possibly before the diary was published in 1908 with the help of his son Chas. A. Dougherty. -
